2006
Pan Mass Challenge
"PMC
No. 8"
After last
year's ride, I told myself that I would not look at my
2006 participation as I have done in year's past by being
so angry and viewing it as a battle, instead I would focus
on the positive. The pain of cancer does not go away, my
hatred for this disease does not go away, but there is so
much to take satisfaction in. So, as I prepare for this
year’s PMC ride, let me share some good notes.
-
This
is my 8th year, thus my streak of successes is longer
than Lance's
-
It
has stopped raining here in New England.
-
Thanks
to my good friend Bud Dodge, the leader of Team.
T.O.G.W.G.F.I.T.W.A.M., for connecting me with the
PMC.
-
Over
the history of the PMC, more than $145 million dollars
has been raised.
-
Family
and friends still like me even though I ask for
donations each year.
-
Bike
training keeps my butt in good shape (that's what my
wife says).
-
EVERYONE
at Dana Farber continues to lead in cancer research
and to improve the lives of those suffering with
cancer.
-
My
dad looks on from heaven with pride.
-
My
dear friends who are presently dealing with cancer are
doing OK!
-
The
sunset at MMA is an inspiring gift.
-
All
the smiles and support of the PMC volunteers
-
ALL
OF YOU! And much more!
I am thankful and feel good about many details surrounding
our efforts in the PMC, but this year is not about the
battle, it is about our good fortunes and the progress
made in the war against cancer. I ask that you take pride
in our annual effort and once again support the PMC.
